Thank You Mr Lee!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rest In Peace.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/asimplehappiness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_7270.jpg\" alt=\"\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span>Singapore Mandai Crematorium will be closed on Sunday (Mar 29) from 1pm for the cremation service for the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the founding Prime Minister of Singapore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Visitors to the Mandai Crematorium are advised to leave the premises by 1pm.<\/span><span><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To minimise traffic congestion, visitors who are visiting these facilities on the above dates are advised to take public transport.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/asimplehappiness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_7277.jpg\" alt=\"\">&nbsp;<span><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><strong>MILITARY TRIBUTE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>The Gun Carriage will then make its way around the Padang, via St Andrews Road, Stamford Road and Esplanade Drive. Special permission has been given for a 21-gun salute with four ceremonial 25-pounder howitzers &#8211; an honour usually reserved for sitting Heads of State.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>Apart from the National Day Parade, the 21-Gun Salute was&nbsp;last accorded in honour of then-President Dr Benjamin Henry Sheares during his State Funeral in 1981.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>When the procession passes in front of City Hall,&nbsp;the Republic of&nbsp;Singapore Air Force\u2019s Black Knights will fly a Missing Man&nbsp;Formation, where one aircraft will leave the four-aircraft flying formation&nbsp;as an aerial salute to honour the late Mr Lee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>Two Fearless-class Patrol Vessels (RSS Dauntless and RSS&nbsp;Resilience) from the Republic of Singapore Navy will also conduct a ceremonial sailpast in the waters off the Marina Barrage,&nbsp;set against the backdrop of the city skyline, in recognition of the late Mr&nbsp;Lee\u2019s contributions to Singapore\u2019s nation-building.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>A black&nbsp;flag, traditionally used for mourning, will be flown on the starboard side of the mast of each ship,&nbsp;together with signals flag representing the letters \u201cL\u201d, \u201cK\u201d and \u201cY\u201d. When the State Funeral Procession passes the Padang, the two ships will sound three prolonged horn blasts, lasting ten seconds each.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><strong>The Last Journey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>At 12.30pm on Sunday, March 29, the body of Mr Lee will be conveyed by a gun carriage from Parliament House to the University Cultural Centre at the National University of Singapore. The State Funeral Procession will cover 15.4km and pass landmarks associated with the late Mr Lee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><strong><strong>JOURNEY<\/strong>&nbsp;THROUGH THE HEARTLANDS<\/strong><span><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>The Gun Carriage will then embark on a route passing several landmarks of significance. Members of the public can line the route from Parliament House to the UCC at NUS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/asimplehappiness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/IMG_7268.jpg\" alt=\"\">&nbsp;<span><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The following roads will be closed to facilitate the procession and the funeral service during the stipulated timing:<\/p>\n<p>Traffic is expected to be heavy along the following roads to facilitate the procession from the University Cultural Centre to Mandai Crematorium from 4pm to 6pm:<\/p>\n<p>1) Clementi Road<\/p>\n<p>2) Commonwealth Avenue West<\/p>\n<p>3) Commonwealth Avenue<\/p>\n<p>4) Queensway<\/p>\n<p>5) Farrer Road<\/p>\n<p>6) Adam Road<\/p>\n<p>7) Lornie Road<\/p>\n<p>8) Upper Thomson Road<\/p>\n<p>9) Sembawang Road<\/p>\n<p>10) Mandai Avenue<\/p>\n<p>Public bus services will be diverted due to the road closures. Members of the public may refer to www.mytransport.sg, www.sbstransit.com.sg and www.smrt.com.sg for details on the bus service diversions.<\/p>\n<p>Police officers and Auxiliary Police Officers will be stationed at all affected road junctions to direct traffic. Singaporeans from all walks of life will also&nbsp;attend the Service.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.channelnewsasia.com\/news\/asiapacific\/foreign-leaders-to-attend\/1745368.html\" target=\"_blank\"><font color=\"#2d2d2d\">Various foreign world leaders will also be present at the Funeral Service.<\/font><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>The Master of Ceremony will be Peter Ong, Head of Civil Service. The event will also be available on toggle.sg and the Toggle app.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>The SCDF Public Warning System siren will be sounded twice islandwide at about 4pm to signal the start and end of a minute of silence in honour of Mr Lee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 16px 0px 0px;padding: 0px\"><span>On the conclusion of the Funeral Service, the late Mr Lee will make his final journey to Mandai Crematorium.
