Ming Court is a 2 Michelin star-rated cantonese cuisine located at Langham Place Hotel, Mongkok, Hong Kong.
Was recommended by one of my friend as well as my boss for the dim sum.
A very spacious restaurant that makes one feel very comfortable. They don’t have a long list of dim sum that you can find in most restaurant in Hong kong, only bout near to 20 odd items. Presentation is simple, not extravagant but classic.
Ordered a few dim sum which looks interesting.
Vegetarian spring roll-vegetables, mushrooms and carrots, not oily
Char Siew Pau-you can’t go wrong with the traditional pau
Alaskan crab meat dumpling-Can’t really taste the crab meat in it. I like the soup which is lightly fragrant with the taste of crab meat.
Drunk prawn dumpling-1 of my favourite! Greeted by the fragrant shaoxing wine used to soak the prawns in the dumplings, which is not overpowering.
Char skew fun cheong-generous chunks of char siew wrapped in the delicately made fun cheong skin that does not stick to the plate and your teeth when cooled even without the gravy.
Pan fried mushroom buns-Surpried by the sesame seeds underneath the buns that gave a light fragrant yet not overpowering the mushroom inside the buns.
Bird’s nest egg tart-many people ordered this, so we tried as well. Looks at the big chunks (NOT small pieces) of bird’s nest on top of the egg tart, that makes you go WOW once. First bite, a second WOW. Excuse me, can i have 1 more pls? WOW!
Not forgetting the chilli sauce, where you can find shreds of dried scallop in it.
Reasonably priced, Good food, Thumbs up, Recommended! Do give it a try when you visit HK.
